WHY WESTERN RED CEDAR?

Durable

Cedar is naturally resistant to rot, decay and insect attacks, which means anything you build with it will last longer and require less maintenance. The natural resilience of cedar shakes and shingles protects against whatever nature throws at it. It has the highest hail and wind resistance ratings

Sustainable

Western Red Cedar and other species are harvested under a sustained yield policy which guarantees forest regeneration and biological diversity. Making Western Red Cedar Shakes & Shingles the optimum environmental choice of cladding materials.

Energy Efficient

Cedar shakes & shingles are renowned for their insulation qualities. Cedar’s unique cellular composition makes a shake or shingle roof a natural barrier to heat or cold, providing a high degree of thermal insulation.

Western Red Cedar is already a material naturally resistant to decay, however, in some extreme climates where high humidity is a factor it is necessary to boost that natural resistance. CCA pressure-treated Shake and Shingles are designed for extremely wet & shaded, or tropical climates where building materials require increased resistance to fungal decay and also in many southern geographic locations where termites are present.
