Operations Supervisor of 10 am – 6:30 PM shift (M-F)
Department: Operations Job Status: Full-Time
Title: Operations Supervisor-PM Hours: Monday – Friday 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
FLSA Status: Salaried, Exempt Reports To: Operations Manager
JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Supervisor-PM works on a team of four operations supervisors/ managers to make sure our warehousing and logistics operations run smoothly. The “afternoon shift” that they oversee is primarily responsible for picking orders and loading flatbed trailers. The Operations Supervisor will spend most of each day in the warehouses, working as the Quality Control to ensure orders are picked, packaged, and loaded correctly. The Operations Supervisor will ensure his team is efficient and productive with their time.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage 8-10 direct reports and approx. 15 dotted line reports (Forklift Operators, Porters, Truck
Drivers) - Coordinate and assign work, set completion time, review work and manage performance in
accordance with organizational policies, procedures and performance management processes - Must be flexible with late add-on orders, order adjustments and/or order cancellations
- Act as the quality control check after orders are pulled and loaded onto trucks
- Serve as the final quality control checkpoint for all outbound orders.
- Track and document damages and errors and make suggestions on how to improve error rate
- Responsible for trucks being loaded safely and correctly
- Oversee warehouse and facilities cleanliness
- Back up the Operations Manager as needed
- Ensure communications and actions are in alignment with our mission, vision and culture
- Confirm paperwork is accurate and updated accordingly
- Responsible for locking up and alarming warehouses
- Manage time efficiently, meet personal goals and work effectively with other team members
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures
- Present a professional image at all times
- Perform various other duties and special projects as assigned

SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 4+ years related experience in warehouse operations
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in a leadership/supervisory capacity overseeing at least four
employees - Prior experience within the building materials industry preferred
- Experience with flatbed or curtain side loading a plus
- Must have strong leadership skills
- Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated and able to multi-task
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competency of MS office and Operations systems
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) a plus
EDUCATION
- Associate’s Degree in business or supply chain (or equivalent combination of education, training
and experience) - Bachelor’s Degree a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and walk during the course of employment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
- Must have the manual dexterity to file and use a computer keyboard, calculator and telephone
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception and an ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season.
