JOB SUMMARY
The Shift Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Operations Manager. This position will be responsible for all facilities/warehouses (total of 150,000 sq. ft.), inventory, the MRS fleet of tractors and trailers and assist with overseeing the Operations Team. In this role, the Shift Supervisor will spend most of the day in the warehouses working with Forklift Operators to ensure all orders are pulled correctly, trucks are loaded and unloaded properly, keeping track of errors, noticing trends and coming up with solutions to improve our error rate and thus maintaining our inventory accuracy.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage 6-10 direct reports and approx. 15 dotted line reports (Forklift Operators, Porters, Truck Drivers)
- Coordinate and assign work, set completion time, review work and manage performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures and performance management processes.
- Act as the quality control check for inbound product being offloaded
- Track and document damages and errors and make suggestions on how to improve error rate
- Coordinate and assign daily orders to Forklift Operators
- Responsible for trucks being loaded and unloaded safely
- Responsible for route optimization
- Mitigating product damages and taking preventative measures to prevent future occurrences
- Oversee warehouse and facilities cleanliness, landscaping and maintenance
- Back up the Operations Manager as needed
- Ensure communications and actions are in alignment with our mission, vision and culture
- Ensuring paperwork is accurate and updated accordingly
- Responsible for opening up warehouses and locking up and alarming them when applicable
- Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other team members
- Adhere to all Company policies and procedures
- Present a professional image at all times
- Perform various other duties and special projects as assigned

SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2+ years related experience in Operations
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity overseeing at least six employees.
- Experience with flatbed or curtain side loading a plus
- Prior experience within the building materials industry strongly preferred
- Must have strong leadership and negotiating skills
- Must be very organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities
- Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated, and able to multi-task
- Must have strong time management skills and exceptional problem-solving ability
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Competency in MS office and Operations systems
EDUCATION
- Associate’s Degree in business or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Bachelor’s Degree a plus
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hand to finger, handle or feel objects, touch and use tools, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, twist, lift, reach, push, pull, grasp, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear and walk during the course of employment
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must have the manual dexterity to file and use a computer keyboard, calculator, and telephone
- Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision depth perception and an ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures, depending upon the season
Shift: 5:00am – 2:00pm
Salary: 40,000+
