Continuing Education for Licensed Architects
DATE: Monday December 5th, 2022
TIME: 9:00 am ET
AIA COURSE NUMBER: AIACESPORCH
LENGTH: 1 hour
CREDITS: 1 Learning Unit / 1 HSW hour
DESCRIPTION: In 2015, the US Census reported that 83% of all new single-family homes had a traditional porch, number increasing in early 2016. With timber being quick cut, resulting in low density wood and shorter life cycles and many composites failing due to a lack of dimensional stability. With the increase of the architectural feature, the porch, and the lack of education about products and performance has created a challenge in the traditional porch category.
With challenges innovators began working to provide solutions. When technology provides solutions people have questions. What are the product options? Why does and when should an architect choose to specify it? How does it get installed? How do products perform short and long term in harsh environments? These answers and more are included in this educational unit.
The event is FREE to architects, designers or specifiers.
