IRVINGTON, NJ (October 2nd) – Manufacturers Reserve Supply (MRS) was honored as a semi-finalist at the Fifteenth Annual New Jersey Family Business of the Year Awards presentation.
MRS, a third generation wholesale building materials distributor, founded in 1931, was one of three semi-finalists in their category. MRS President Steve Boyd stated, ” MRS is a family business and I am lucky enough to be the third generation to head the company. My grandfather and father were dedicated to making MRS a premier distributor of building materials. I have been guided by their integrity, work ethic and wisdom in my determination to work hard and grow our company. I am grateful for our success and strive to run MRS in a way that would make my father and grandfather proud.”
The awards program is sponsored by the Rothman Institute of Entrepreneurial Studies at Fairleigh Dickinson University. It represents the only statewide effort to specifically honor family-owned companies for their significant role in the economy and contributions to the community.
Guest speakers for the 2007 program were emcee Elizabeth Christopherson, Executive Director of New Jersey Network (NJN) Public Television and Radio and President of the NJN Foundation for Public Broadcasting, Inc, along with Kevin Drennan, Executive Director of the New Jersey Commerce Commission.
