Internships Make a Difference at MRS

As education is an important element to us as a company in all aspects, MRS would like to introduce you to our 2017 summer interns. Every summer we hire students looking for experience in all different fields and educate them through various departments of our company. Our interns have worked on projects in operations, marketing, accounting, and sales. We are always looking to include our interns in on meetings and introduce them to important business people we work with on a day- to-day basis. We use our resources to include our interns in as many aspects of the business as we can, so they are able to learn and understand how we operate as not only a business, but a wholesale distribution center. Meet our interns!

Our Office Interns: Kate Jepson & Autumn Wickstrom

Kate is a rising junior at the University of South Carolina, she came to us the summer of 2016 and since being here has worked closely with our Accounting Manager, Sandra in various accounting tasks as Kate is pursuing a degree in Accounting and Finance. In addition to working with Sandy, Kate works with our dispatcher and our inside salesmen in preparing our daily routes and prepare paperwork for our shipments.

Autumn is also a rising junior at East Carolina University. Autumn is pursuing a degree in construction management and business administration and joined the MRS team this May. After working outside in our warehouse for a week to understand our products and operations, she has transitioned into the office working on our small orders and UPS shipments. She has also helped in various other office projects.

Our Warehouse Interns: Peter Jepson, Michael Gordon, Mark Kinol, and Chris Colon

Peter, Mike, and Mark are returning warehouse interns, the boys joined our ops team June of 2016 and since then have been given more responsibilities in the warehouse. After graduating from the Delbarton School this May the boys are all preparing for college. Peter is headed to Virginia Tech to participate in the Corps Cadets. Mike is headed north to Tufts to compete on their hockey team, and Mark is headed west to pursue an engineering degree at the University of Southern California. It is our hope that the boys will return to help us outside on their college breaks and vacations. Wish them luck as they embark on this new chapter of their lives.

Chris joined the boys this year, also a graduate from Delbarton, Chris joined us at the beginning of the month and has been getting accustomed to the operations of our warehouses. He has helped with shrink wrapping and cutting samples. The boys also are a big help in keeping things smooth outside in our busy season in order to maintain error free order pulling and cleanliness, as customers are frequently coming by to pick up orders. Chris will be leaving for the University of Michigan in August and we wish him luck as well. We hope he returns with the other boys, as his hard work around the warehouse has not gone unnoticed this summer.
